ABIM Welcomes Permission For Singapore Public Hospital Nurses To Wear Head Scarf

Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) welcomes the announcement made by
Singapore’s Prime Minister Hon Lee Hsien Loong in conjunction with the National
Day Rally 2021 to allow nurses in public hospitals to wear head scarves.
ABIM appreciates the latest development as a common effort to boost religious and
racial harmony in Southeast Asia.

ABIM believes that religious and racial unity should be fostered through actions by all
reflecting a sense of respect to each other particularly on religious teachings and
cultural practices inherited by respective groups of ethnicity.

ABIM is optimistic to collaborate with all parties to bring back the narrative of a
peaceful co-existence between communities in this region that have always been
rich with the spirit of love and mutual respect based on unique cosmopolitan
features.
