The Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) extends its highest congratulations to YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, for being recognised in The World’s 500 Most Influential Muslims 2025 published by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre (RISSC), Jordan, where he is ranked among the Top 10 Most Influential Muslims globally. This honour reflects the international community’s confidence in his leadership which remains firm in upholding truth and grounded in universal humanitarian principles.
For ABIM, this recognition is deeply significant as it reflects the continuity of a lifelong struggle that began in the sphere of Muslim youth activism through the founding of ABIM in 1971. Since the beginning, the Prime Minister has championed the agenda of people’s education, social justice, and the voices of the oppressed within the discourse of national development and Islamic missionary work. His success in leading the country and elevating Malaysia’s standing on the global stage today is a testament to the maturity of these ideals, which continue to expand and bring impact to the people and the wider ummah.
The RISSC report also highlights the Prime Minister’s courageous stance on the Palestinian struggle, particularly his forthright condemnation of the hypocrisy of major powers in the face of the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza. His assertive call reflects a strong commitment to ensuring that global solidarity for Palestine is upheld based on humanitarian principles not geopolitical interests.
In the regional sphere, the leadership of YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar in steering ASEAN has garnered praise and wide recognition. Malaysia has successfully strengthened ASEAN’s position as a principled and forward-looking coalition, serving as a strategic bridge among global powers. His ability to guide ASEAN on key issues such as inclusive economic growth, digital transformation, and regional stability has elevated investor confidence and firmly positioned Malaysia as a thought leader in Southeast Asia.
ABIM also underscores that the Prime Minister’s global influence in advancing the voice of the Global South firmly places Malaysia as a defender of the rights and dignity of nations long caught in unequal global structures. His Malaysia MADANI approach restores human dignity as a central pillar of both domestic and international diplomacy.
In this spirit, ABIM believes that the credibility and statesmanship of YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim will continue to shine not only in leading Malaysia towards a more just, prosperous and dignified future, but also as a respected statesman in the Muslim world and the Global South. He has demonstrated that Malaysia can remain a free and principled voice that stands courageously for justice even amid geopolitical pressure.
ABIM further urges that this international recognition be translated into tangible policy efforts that uplift broader segments of society, empower civil society voices, and provide greater opportunities for youth participation in diplomacy, social reform and future leadership of the nation. ABIM remains committed to being a strategic partner in strengthening public education, global solidarity for Palestine, youth empowerment, and the struggle for social justice, to ensure that the goals of Malaysia MADANI benefit every level of society.
May this global acknowledgement of the His Excellency Prime Minister encourage Malaysia to continue emerging as a beacon of humanity and justice for the world.
“Upholding Truth and Justice”
