9 August 2025 – The Islamic Outreach ABIM Centre, through its Mosque Tour Guide Program, organized a Mosque Open Day at Ar-Rahman Mosque on Perhentian Island. The event offered tourists an opportunity to visit the mosque and gain a closer understanding of Islam and the role of the mosque in Muslim communities.

A variety of activities were held during the event, including meet-and-greet sessions with tourists, traditional games such as congkak and kite-flying, children’s coloring activities, traditional weaving, ketupat cooking demonstrations, and more.

The program was officiated by Ms. Nur Alyssa Coraline binti Yussin, Director-General (Malaysia) of the Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC). Also present was Mr. Muhamad Aliemran Bin Norasid, Secretary-General of ABIM.
This initiative is part of ABIM’s ongoing efforts to promote dakwah (Islamic outreach) through diverse approaches. Through the Mosque Tour Guide Program, a space is created for dialogue and for providing tourists—especially non-Muslims—with a better understanding of Islam. This initiative supports the promotion of Islam as a religion of peace.
